Dr. Bordenstein is a biologist in the Department of Biological Sciences and in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. He is an Associate Professor with broad interests in the role of microbes in animal evolution and health. He is the founding director of the worldwide outreach program - Discover the Microbes Within! Dr. Bordenstien received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from the University of Rochester and held a Postdoctoral Fellowship with the National Research Council while at the Marine Biological Laboratory. His research is inspired by the Carl Sagan quote that "Life looks for Life".
